One LOVE, One GOAL: Overcome COVID-19 pandemic
Fr. Peter Chin, C.Ss.R.
We are living in unprecedented times. Our routines, lifestyle, and even our livelihood have been significantly impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. The faithful cannot even attend mass and receive the sacrament physically. Many of us feel insecure or hopeless. However, amidst this darkness, we Christians are called to bring light and hope to the world. It is in times like these that we should be united both in prayers and in actions to care for those most in need.
This is exactly what Fountain of Love and Life (FLL) is doing by launching a fundraising campaign to purchase the much needed personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline healthcare workers in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a way that Chinese Catholics can join hands to save lives and protect the most vulnerable in the community. This is how we can bear witness for Christ when the light seems to have gone out in the world.
As one of the principles of Catholic social teaching, “solidarity refers to the virtue enabling the human family to share fully the treasure of material and spiritual goods.” (Pope Benedict XVI) May I urge you to show solidarity with the least of our brothers and sisters in this pandemic by giving generously in support of FLL’s special fundraising campaign.
In this month of Mary, may we entrust our petitions to our Heavenly Mother and ask her to intercede for the sick and protect those who are serving them.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us!
